IRAN's situational awareness and the nuclear break-out capacity....

The primary advantage of a nuclear Iran and a rising Shi'ite state would be the instability it engenders in today's predominantly Sunni- and Wahhabi-CIA controlled Middle East.... That is not a bad thing as both America and Europe have precious little to show for their engagement of Saudi Arabia and neighboring kingdoms in the nine years since the obvious inside Job of 9/11 and the West's attempts to curtail al-CIAda..... Instead, the rise of Iran and the SHI'A in general could well promote the kind of reforms that have thus far been eschewed by Arab creepy kingdoms, and in turn create the conditions for greater stability over the long run.....

The key to understanding the 'nuclear issue' is to realize that it has little to do with the nuclear issue.

The US wants to weaken Iran as much as possible, no matter what Iran does. The need to *pretend* to be reasonable, to be seeking compromise, as Dennis Ross, but they have no intention of actually being reasonable.

So the US will continue to seek sanctions no matter what Iran does. If Iran halted its nuclear program today, you would quickly hear the refrain that Iran is a very large country and they are simply "hiding" their program. And the March towards more sanctions would continue (And war if they thought they could profit from it)

Iran's best bet is to gain as much regional influence as possible, cause as much hindrance to US objectives as they can, and hunker down and deal with sanctions as best as they can.

And if oil continues rising past 100$/barrel, so much the better....

Turkey agrees conditionally to NATO missile defence system --

There will be announcements of agreement publicly, but privately these conditions will not be accepted.... The target is Iran .... and Turkey knows it....

"A Republican Senator has sparked outrage at an international security conference after saying the U.S. should be prepared to launch a military attack on Iran to 'neuter' its hard-line regime.

Lindsey Graham, who represents South Carolina, told surprised attendees at the Halifax International Security Forum that an attack could cripple Iran's nuclear programme and armed forces.....

He said that although international sanctions were beginning to work, President Barack Obama should make it 'abundantly clear' that 'all options are on the table'."

-------------------------------------------------

Natanyahu told Biden yesterday that the US must "man up" on its threat to wipe out Iran's nuclear program. This sounds like the same message delivered by Graham who is one of Israel's closest friends. I suppose that McCain and Lieberman cannot be far behind....

*** Israel now has effective control of US actions with regard to Iran. We can't prevent them attacking Iran. Public opinion and the howling of the "rented" Congress will insure that such a war quickly becomes America's war against Iran....

On 9/11, Americans were martyred for the cause of NATO expansion and by those who want NATO expansion, since 9/11 was an inside Job wall to wall...

The "Somali pirates" are a tool for expanding NATO in the Horn of Africa...and Al-CIAda into the Caucuses and Central Asia, In Yemen for Bab-Al-Mandeb and North Africa for AFRICOM....
NATO’s new Strategic Concept must consolidate the gains that we’ve made and reflect the new nature and origins of the threats we face today. Some of the new dynamics we’re dealing with were beginning to appear in 1999 when NATO last revised its Strategic Concept. For example, we faced the question of whether the Alliance would engage in out-of-area operations. Today, NATO ships are combating piracy off the Horn of Africa. NATO’s Training Mission in Iraq has provided instruction to more than 14,000 Iraqis. We have agreed to work together to counter the missile threat from the Middle East. And in the last two and a half months, Allies have answered President Obama’s call to support ISAF’s mission in Afghanistan and are scheduled to increase their contributions by nearly 10,000 troops. In an interconnected world, we cannot defend our people by crouching behind the geographic boundaries of the Alliance. Reality has redefined the area in which we operate.

NATO's Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Hüseyin Diriöz said Sunday Turkey's influence in international organizations rose as Turkey's contribution to global peace and stability increased....With technology, new security risks are coming forth. The cyber threat is one example of new security risks. A crash in the cyber world can negatively affect daily lives, all the way from banking to transportation. The security of energy routes also carries risks.... Terrorism poses a major threat to security. NATO continues to work against such threats, Diriöz said.

Turkey is the spigot from which the treasure of NATO's war booty is served to energy oligarchs of Europe and Israel....??
